Looking Forward to 2017

Although this past year has been one of significant challenge for MAP Physiotherapy and myself, I believe that the future is bright and I am looking forward to what lies ahead.  After the death of my business partner, which necessitated moving the business, what I have discovered is a true sense of community in Orléans.  I have lived in Blackburn Hamlet for over ten years, but because my place of work was west of home, I never really explored Orléans.  Now that my business is here, I am realizing all that the area has to offer.

I particularly love the number of small independently run businesses and I frequent them as often as possible.  I appreciate the warm welcome I received from my fellow business owners in the strip mall where my practice is now located.  Within a week of moving in I had met more business owners here than I did in eight years at the old location.  They have been wonderfully helpful with everything from finding an architect to do plans for the new space, to helping me move in heavy boxes, to helping me find a good cleaning service.  I feel that we are all looking out for each other and that to me says community.

Through the Orléans BIA I have found a wonderful business coach who I am certain will help me make 2017 the best year ever for MAP Physiotherapy.  We will be focussing on helping moms and their entire families to live healthier more active lives.  We can help expectant mothers, new mothers, and experienced mothers with all of their physiotherapy needs.  I also have the paediatric expertise (I spent the first ten years of my career working at CHEO) that allows me to help children from birth to adolescence.  In addition we have experience with neurological injuries and conditions and so have the ability to welcome those with disabilities.

We are looking forward to helping the community of Orléans in 2017.  I am very excited to meet more people and become more actively involved in this local area.  Please stop by and see us anytime.  We would be happy to say hello and answer any questions you might have.

All the best for a prosperous and healthy 2017.  Happy New Year!
